Cantores in Ecclesia presents Membra Jesu Nostri ("Limbs of Our Jesus"), the profound, devotional masterpiece by German Baroque composer Dieterich Buxtehude (1637–1707). Consisting of seven short cantatas, each offers a meditation on a different part of Christ’s crucified body—first His feet, followed by His knees, hands, side, breast, heart, and finally, His face.
The singers of Cantores will be joined by an instrumental ensemble of period-music specialists, including Adam LaMotte and Toma Iliev on violin, Adaiha MacAdam-Somer on viola da gamba, and Hannah Brewer on organ.
